The perfectionist in our family with the incredible patience to measure every ingredient so accurately that her deserts never fail. She learned her baking skills from our Ouma Steyn who used to bake 50 cakes with her Mother for their annual Church Bazaar. My mom has spent many hours at our school events baking 15 pancakes at time. My brother was fortunate to inherit her skills.
It gives me great pleasure to share a few of her traditional favorite recipes.
